Meet the Doulas!

Brooke Sackett, CD(DONA), NCS

Hi there! I’m Brooke. Supporting parents through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postnatal period is the greatest honor I could receive. Chances are you’re here because you are expecting or recently brought a little bundle into the world :) Congrats!!

I was gifted the Doula gene by my mom and business partner, Donna, who has been a doula for the better half of my life. She, along with my two beautiful children, are who I have to thank for the birth of MountainMamas. When I was younger, I remember being so excited when Donna would get a text from a client that they might be in labor. I wanted to know everything. I would text her for updates and truly couldn’t wait for the “BABY IS HERE!” text. I would find myself unable to sleep at night over the excitement of another baby coming into this world. I always wanted to know how mom was doing and if she was okay. I then found myself wondering what positions Donna was doing to help labor progress. I wondered if mom was okay and wished I could jump through the phone and help support. I was doing the work without doing the work. It was clear I was destined to be a birth worker. After getting a degree in health education, I landed a marketing job, which wasn’t fulfilling whatsoever. I knew I needed to make a change. Then, after having my first child, Zoey, I found myself on the other side of things and experienced what a gift having a doula was. I truly believe my journey would’ve been so different without her.

It was then that I became a doula. I received my certification through DONA International, started my Newborn Care Specialist training, and joined forces with Donna. We support and serve as a backup for each other, and love learning from each other everyday.

The birth and postpartum periods are sacred. I join your side without judgement and with the promise that I will fully show up for you. and your partner During birth, I typically join when you’re in active labor or about 4-5 cm. I am there until the Golden Hour is over, usually no more than 2 hours postpartum, once you’re settled in comfortably and no longer need me.

I attend home births, birth centers, and hospital births and love working with Midwives and OBGYN’s alike. When I enter your space, I will setup the room with a diffuser (so many scents to choose from!), twinkling lights, tea lights, affirmation cards, comfort tools, labor position cards, a TENS unit, heating pad/clix pack, lotions and oils, etc. I use hypno-birthing in my practice and work heavily on breathing techniques to guide you through labor. I will inform you of your options and coach you through labor and delivery. I can be as hands on or off as you’d like!

For postpartum support, I join you once baby is home, and center my care around mom and baby. I can help with breast/chest feeding, schedules, baby care, bathing, etc., and we discuss milestones and what to lookout for. I am extremely organized and can help with nursery organization (I also offer nursery setup services before baby arrives as an add-on), light household tasks (dishes, laundry, etc.), grocery pickup, emotional and mental support, sibling adjustments, processing, etc.

If you would like to know anything else about me, please reach out. I’m so so excited at the possibility of joining your birth team!

Doula love,

Brooke

Donna Rigert, CD(DONA)

I’m a 15-year birth professional who can provide you with emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and just after your childbirth. While I don't provide medical care, I offer a complementary role to your healthcare providers by focusing on your overall comfort and well-being.

Initially, before childbirth, we'll have a prenatal planning meeting together (the expectant mother and your partner) to understand your preferences, fears, and expectations around childbirth (aka 'your birth plan'). I'll provide you with expert information about the childbirth process, pain management options, potential medical interventions, and more, to help you make informed decisions about your care.

During labor, I'll be present to provide you with continuous support. I may use various techniques to help manage any pain and promote your relaxation, such as massage, movement, positioning, and breathing exercises. I will also provide emotional support and encouragement and help facilitate communication between you and your attending medical team. After birth, during our postpartum session(s), I can assist you with initial breastfeeding support and provide guidance on newborn care and recovery from childbirth. It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
